Each year we evaluate your property's current replacement cost, which is listed under Coverage A — Dwelling. Replacement cost is generally defined as "the cost to replace a structure with materials of like kind and quality without deduction for depreciation". Simply put, it reflects the cost to rebuild your home — broken down into components (framing, roofing, and so on) and valued at the cost (materials, labor rates, and so on) to reconstruct each component in today's economy — in the event of a total loss.
